The Bee, Publika

I went to The Bee just before the fasting month during lunch time or maybe we went slightly later, I can't recall but never mind, that's not important!

Chili Cheese Fries
First up! It's their Chili Beef Fries. I was disappointed because the dish is called Chili Cheese Fries, but the amount of chili and cheese they gave were hardly enough for half the fries. I personally think they should either lessen the amount of fries or double up the chili and cheese. I prefer their old serving of Chili Cheese Fries which was quite a few years ago, the fries was smothered with Chili Beef and that's how it should have been, not like how they're doing it now. Very, very disappointed.

Teriyaki Sandwich
Meor had this sandwich. The thing about him is, he's not a fussy eater like how I am so he doesn't complain unless the food is really really really bad. He was eating quietly as usual, then I asked if I could have a bite of the sandwich. I was again, disappointed. They gave so little amount of the teriyaki chicken that if you wanted to taste it, it's better if you don't eat it with the bread and doesn't that defeats the purpose of calling it a sandwich? I'm really not a fan of burgers or sandwiches or anything that is served with bread and the amount of filling that they give is lesser than the size of the bread. (Hmm okay, I didn't explain that in a way that's easy to understand. Oh well) Basically, I didn't like this sandwich.

Caesar Salad with Cajun Chicken
One of my favourite salads is Caesar Salad, so I've had my fair amount of Caesar Salads - it's fair to say that I know whether it's been done well. The Bee's Caesar Salad did not disappoint, the only thing that I'd like to bring up here was the time taken preparing this dish - it was the last dish to be served. I'm pretty sure if I didn't ask the waiter about it, the salad would have not appeared before me. I really liked the salad though, I've no negative comments for this dish! :)

Apple Crumble with Vanilla Ice Cream
This dessert made up for all the wrong things that happened. It was so delicious. It's the best I've ever had - I haven't had that many Apple Crumbles before so I'm not sure if I can be trusted. It really is good, though. Mouth-watering. Heavenly. It was just so good. Arghh I want some now.

Wondermama, Telawi Bangsar

It's so hard being consistent at blogging. I keep procrastinating - such an awful habit.

Anyway, this was the second time I went to Wondermama. I didn't take a picture of what Meor had because... hmm I don't remember why I think I just forgot and by the time I realise I should have taken a picture he has already digged in his food - oh well.

Nasi Lemak 3.0
The Nasi Lemak was nothing to shout about but I really did like the fish (I forgot what fish it was) and also the Sambal Petai, I'm such a sucker for Sambal Petai!

I like Wondermama but I don't eat rice (rarely) and most of their dishes are rice so... not ideal for me to go here but it is a nice place to dine.

The Red Beanbag, Publika

I was browsing on the net to find somewhere new to eat when I stumble upon a review on The Red Beanbag. It definitely caught my attention.

I went there thinking that I'm going to give their breakfast menu a try but then, I ended up ordering something else.

Crustacean Cousin
I love pasta. I love prawns. I love scallops. When I saw this on the menu, I just knew I had to have it but because it's quite pricey compared to the others I thought it'd be better if I ordered something else. In the end, after I don't know? Staring at the menu for 20 minutes unable to decide which dish I wanted - I finally gave up and asked Meor to help me choose and I think he can tell that I wanted to order the Crustacean Cousin so he told me to just go ahead and order it :)

When the food arrived, I didn't expect the portion to be as small as it was. I didn't mind because I never finish my food due to the ever big portion that many Malaysian restaurants serve so with this small portion, I wouldn't end up wasting any food but I know most of their customers might complain due to the pricing.

It felt like a casual fine dining café - I'm not sure if that actually makes any sense.

Sumo

Meor ordered this one. I'm not a fan of poached egg but I love Salmon and not to mention the Potato Rosti! I took a bite and did my very best not to let my cutleries touch the egg. I loved the crispiness of the Rosti, the Salmon could have been better though, the fishy smell was quite strong.

The portion for this dish was fairly small as well. I wasn't sure what I was doing, but I wanted to have a few more bites of the Rosti but as I looked at his plate he has already finished it all of! His plate was spotless clean. I still can't believe he finished it off without offering me one last bite haha.

I plan to come here again to try their other dishes :)

D'italiane, Sunway Giza

I went here at the last minute after work. I don't know why I chose this place, it was very random of me.
Al Fungi Aglio Olio
My mum ordered this one. I wish I ordered it cause it was so good. It was so simple yet so delicious.

Braised Whole Leg with Brown Sauce
I expected this to be better than it actual was. I didn't like the potatoes, it didn't compliment either one of the chicken nor the mushroom. The brown sauce tasted off, couldn't really put my finger on what went wrong with this dish. I was disappointed and wouldn't order this again the next time I go here.

Satelite Chicken Rice, Jln Gasing

Meor has been craving for Chicken Rice and we wanted to go to the Ipoh Chicken Rice at Sunway Giza but I think that place has been closed down so I told him there's another one at Jalan Gasing.

On the way there, I suddenly remembered that there are two chicken rice shops at Jalan Gasing, I've been to both with my mum and I prefer the corner shop which was Restaurant Satelite Chicken Rice. So we ditched the bigger one and went to the little humble shop at the corner.

Steamed Chicken and Roast Chicken with Bean Sprout
Usually, their steamed chicken are the best but I'm not sure why maybe I wasn't as lucky as before so they gave us quite a dry one but the roast chicken was so yummy I felt like ordering another one but then stopped myself since I'm trying to watch my weight (though am failing miserably). Anyway, if any of you ever get the dry ones, don't hesitate to ask the owner to give you a new batch (he's more than happy to) I didn't do that cause I know if I asked Meor he would have adviced me not to cause he doesn't like to waste food, bummer.

Serai, Empire Subang

Nearly everyone I know have been to Serai before and I've heard nothing but good things about Serai. I've always wanted to try it out but never really got around it, somehow I'll always choose another restaurant over Serai for no particular reason.

But there was this one day, I was craving for something Kelantanese and the only place that I know that serves good authentic Kelantanese food is Belanga but I wanted to go somewhere cozy and Belanga doesn't really scream "cozy" - it's more like a coffee house with wooden chairs and tables. So I thought of Serai and dragged Meor to take me there.

Nasi Kerabu with Ayam Percik
I started being obsessed with Ayam Percik when I went to Kelantan few years ago. I can't tell you how much weight I gained when I went there haha. Kelantan has one of the best local food around, there's nothing like it. Anyway, I remember clearly how I was dying of hunger on the way to Serai so the food tasted superb -  either because it's actually really that good or I was just really hungry. Though I honestly think it's that good. The chicken was the winner definitely, I'd eat 5 of that if I could.

Serai Platter
He ordered this one. It wasn't anything out of the ordinary, didn't go beyond my expectation, It's still tasty but I've had better ones but the squid was truly delicious! I didn't expect to love it that much.
